Andy was 35 when he had his 1669 graft FUE procedure to reinforce his hairline, transition zone and temples in September 2017 – and here are his photos 14 months later.
Andy had 357 1-graft follicles, 589 2-graft follicles, 578 3-graft follicles, 133 4-graft follicles and 12 5-graft follicles transplanted, averaging 2.31 hairs per graft.
Andy said “I have a family history of balding, and I have gradually felt my hairline recede over a number of years. My kids were brutally honest about it.
It was something I had always thought about getting done, so it was a matter of when, not if.
I had been thinking about it more over the last 3-4 years, especially having seen other people who had got it done and their results.
And once I finished playing football I had more time to myself, to do what I wanted to do.”
“The quality of work at The Glasgow Clinic was probably the biggest thing for me. I first heard about the clinic from word of mouth from a few ex-colleagues. I was able to see Boyd and McFadden’s results in person, and they looked great.
From the initial point of contact onwards, The Glasgow Clinic were very honest and upfront about the procedure, there was a very open dialogue.
I’m one of these guys who likes to know what’s happening before it happens, I was always that way inclined. So for example I would always want to know in advance about what we were going to be doing during preseason training. I like to learn – knowledge is power – and it was important to me that The Glasgow Clinic were open and honest and informative during the whole consultation process.”
“I’m very happy with the outcome, absolutely delighted. I wanted a realistic and natural look, I didn’t want something that looked very extreme. I think it’s subtle, it’s not glaringly obvious.
I actually had a conversation with my hairdresser about hair transplants while I was in recently, and he hadn’t even noticed that I’d had one.
My wife likes it, but I think ultimately you do it for yourself, first and foremost. It gives me options with my hair, I can grow it longer, and I can style it the way I like.”
“I knew for a while that I wanted to go The Glasgow Clinic – I had seen their results first hand, as well as those of people who went elsewhere, and there was no comparison.
If anyone was worried about hair loss and considering doing something about it, I would definitely say to speak to the guys here initially, to get a better feel for it. The process was excellent from start to finish, they have a high level of expertise, you can explore all your options, and the staff all make you feel very comfortable.”
“The day itself went fine, although I did get a little bit restless from sitting in the one position for a long time.

The period after the procedure was ok, just making sure to keep it moist at the start, and then being careful in the shower. There was no real scabbing, and everything was back to normal within 2-3 weeks.
I actually went back to work within 2 days, wearing the bandana provided, took it a bit easy for a few weeks, and it was absolutely fine. A lot of people were curious about it – I think they were imagining that it might be them in the future.”
“I’m happy to recommend The Glasgow Clinic. I feel they have good attention to detail, and they clearly take pride in what they do. This meant I was more than comfortable, not worried about either getting it done or how it would turn out – I was much more curious than anxious.
I have definitely had some compliments – people close to me can see a big difference.
My overriding sense is that the team at The Glasgow Clinic displayed a high level of professionalism from start to finish, the level of care was excellent, and I’d have no hesitations recommending them to anybody.”
